Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and KO Technical Consulting, LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("we", "us"), which makes Life on Rotation. By using Life on Rotation or creating an account, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Life on Rotation. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data.

1. Who can use Life on Rotation

You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding agreement.

2. What Life on Rotation is, and what it is not

Life on Rotation helps you plan around a work rotation: your calendar, swaps, plans, travel, tickets, pay estimates and sharing with people you choose.

Life on Rotation is a planning aid, not an official record. Rotation dates, crew change times, ticket and certificate expiry dates, renewal suggestions, hunting season dates, fishing closures, draw deadlines, sunrise, sunset and moon times, weather forecasts, reminders, pay, overtime, per diem and days-per-country figures, out-of-office messages and calendar entries are only as accurate as what you enter. They may contain errors. Always rely on your employer's schedule, your actual certificates, your payslips, the official hunting and fishing regulations and qualified tax advice. Don't use Life on Rotation for safety-critical decisions.

3. Your account

Keep your password and recovery code safe. Your data is encrypted with a key we never see, so we can't reset your password or recover your data without your recovery code.
You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
Give a real email address you control.

4. Your content and sharing

You own what you put into Life on Rotation. You let us store, copy and send it only as needed to run the features you use, for example syncing your account or serving your share links.
Anyone with a share link can see what that link shows. Choose carefully what each link includes, and stop a link if it reaches the wrong person.
Don't put your employer's or anyone else's confidential information into Life on Rotation, or anything you don't have the right to share.
Notes and honey-do jobs you send through someone's link must stay clean: no explicit, hateful or threatening content. They're for the person you're sending to and their own rotation.
Crew pick'em is for bragging rights only. Don't use it for betting, wagers or prizes of any kind. Group and player names must stay clean too.
Lease & camp groups only keep score. No money moves through Life on Rotation; settle up between yourselves. You're responsible for what you add to a group, and the organiser can remove anyone.
Other people's links. If someone gives you their link so their hitch shows on your calendar, use it only as they intended. Don't pass it on without asking them.

5. Acceptable use

Don't misuse Life on Rotation. That means: no breaking the law; no trying to get into accounts, links or data that aren't yours; no interfering with the service or overloading it; no reverse engineering except where the law allows it; no copying Life on Rotation to build a competing product.

6. Other services

Life on Rotation runs on Cloudflare, and can connect to Microsoft 365 if you choose to. Weather comes from the US National Weather Service, storm tracks from the National Hurricane Center, and "Track flight" opens a web search in your browser. If you install Life on Rotation from Google Play or the App Store, that store's terms also apply. Their own terms apply to your use of their services. We aren't responsible for them, and features that depend on them may change or stop if they change.

Sponsors and affiliate links. Life on Rotation may show labelled sponsors and affiliate links. We may earn a commission if you buy through an affiliate link. Their products, services and websites are theirs, not ours, and we aren't responsible for them.

7. Ownership

Life on Rotation, including its software, design, name, logos, badges and artwork, belongs to KO Technical Consulting, LLC. You may share the pictures the app makes for you (countdowns, year in hitches) as they are; you may not use the name, logos or badges for anything else without our written permission. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Life on Rotation under these terms. All rights we don't expressly grant are reserved.

8. Price and changes

Life on Rotation is currently free. We may add paid features later. We'll tell you before anything you already use starts to cost money. We may change, pause or stop features at any time. We'll try to give notice for big changes, and to let you export your data first.

9. Ending

You can stop using Life on Rotation and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other users at risk.

10. No warranty

LIFE IN ROTATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT LIFE IN ROTATION WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE, OR THAT DATA WILL NEVER BE LOST. KEEP YOUR OWN BACKUPS (EXPORT MY DATA).

11. Limit of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, KO TECHNICAL CONSULTING, LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, PAY, BOOKINGS, DATA OR OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF LIFE IN ROTATION, INCLUDING RELIANCE ON DATES, EXPIRY REMINDERS, PAY FIGURES, CALENDAR ENTRIES OR AUTOMATIC MESSAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR LIFE IN ROTATION IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND US $50.

Some places don't allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

12. Indemnity

You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a claim against us arises from your breach of these terms or from content you shared that you didn't have the right to share.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be decided in the state or federal courts located in Montgomery County, Texas, and you and we consent to those courts. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and, for important changes, show a notice in the app. Using Life on Rotation after a change means you accept it.
